Last grooms!

My hubby helping me groom Grandma Gidget.

Roe after a haircut.
Moo got his hair cut, too! This is before!

Moo after!

It was thundering and storming, and Sookie didn't like it, so she stayed at my feet the whole time I groomed. I kept forgetting she was there and the other dogs' hair kept falling all over her, but she didn't care. LOL

Everyone gets a treat after their haircuts!

Nom Nom Nom!

Ringo Update & No More Grooming

After talking to my husband about it for a couple weeks - about the demands of grooming - we have decided that I will no longer be grooming. After my knee surgery, I couldn't groom for a while, and then my body was never the same. My knee injury is on my right, and I have a hip that goes out on my left along with a high left rib that also pops out of place, and alternating my weight back and forth while grooming just isn't cutting it anymore. I think my hip may be pinching a nerve that shoots horrible pain up my back, and it's not just while grooming, I can hardly bend over at the waste anymore without getting "stuck," and grooming makes it worst. So we have decided that it's best if I don't push my luck anymore with those things and stay away from the bending, contorting, and other physicalities of grooming.

HOWEVER, I will be offering groomer training to anyone who would like to learn to groom as a career or would just like to learn so that they may groom their own dogs at home. Yes, I am a certified groomer, but you do NOT have to be to groom dogs. And I know you will ask, so, NO, I cannot certify you. You will have to go to an accredited school and spend 8 weeks to a year to get certified. If you would like groomer training, please contact me via email for more info. Pricing may vary, however this is the basics:

$60 for a 2 hour session (Preferred for people who plan to groom at home.)
$250 for one month (three hours a day, one day a week, for one month.) - Career Beginners
$200 for one month - Career Intermediate
$100 Career Brush Ups (2 day brush up course at 2 hours per day for Groomers who would like to learn a specific breed cut or haven't groomed in a while and would like to brush up on the basics.)

RINGO!

Remember the little dog I was telling you about, Ringo? She had back surgery for a ruptured disc and I was pet sitting her for my parents...

Well, she's doing much much better! After the first week that I was sitting her she was pulling herself around because her back legs still didn't work, and Mom thought she was getting better, so I was no longer needed to sit her. About a week later, I went to Mom's and saw that she was walking again! I took this video:

She can now get around pretty well. I just groomed her for the last time yesterday and she did so good. She stood all by herself and I only needed a second pair of hands when it came to lifting her back legs and getting her belly. She still doesn't have full use of one of her back legs, but I hope that will come with time!

Photo Update: Wally & Jack

Here's a pic Kathy just sent me via Facebook of Jack and Wally (I believe she has renamed him Jimmy). They were two pups from Roe's last litter in 2012. I'm so glad that these brothers got to stay together! And look at them all grown up!

Cute Animal Pics!

Here's some cute pics of my animals or my family's animals to brighten your day!

Roe likes to eat snow.

Kitty. She's the one who went missing.

Roe used to sit in her water bowl. I had to get a smaller one.

Handsome Elvis Tucker (AKA Poot)

Mom's bunch and Poot!

Cotton!

I don't know if Shorty likes his mo-hawk...

It's a sleeping Poot!

Little Wally, who now lives with Cathy who took his big brother! I know, too cute!

Can you spot the pup?

Pup who had a cleft palette.

And... Poot hates me.

B, sleeping with a puppy. He's a softy.

Wally. He had allergies so bad when he was a baby!

OOP! She caught me takin' her picture!

Baby Roe in her pretty pink party dress.

And the happiest puppy of all time!

Butterball and Stupid Cats

So, I have been pet sitting for my mom, she has 5 dogs and numerous cats, but Butterball is the reason I have been pet sitting. Ringo (I call her Butterball because she loves to snuggle and hug and can slip through your arms like butter!) ruptured a disc and had to have back surgery. It was so bad before surgery that she lost the use of her back legs. The cause was in part due to her age and years of jumping on and off of taller objects, like the bed, couch, and so on. Her surgery went well and after a couple weeks of healing she is now moving on the doggy rehab. We have to help her of course, doggy-bicycles with her legs and stretches and such to help her regain muscle strength and hopefully the use of them again. They're pretty freakin' cute exorcises, but aren't to be taken lightly. She has regained some use of one of her legs already, and is even able to use the bathroom by herself. I will be staying with her for the next 4-6 weeks when both my parents are at work until she's better.

On a lighter note, Mom's cats are weirdos.
